While all youth face change and growth, that experience is unique for every person.  Working with teens requires a specialized approach to assist them in their search for personal development and truth. Our YRUU program is grounded in the hopes and needs that young people encounter during this period of great transition. It is based on listening deeply and supporting each individual during their journey.

The High School Youth program at UUCR is fun and interesting and includes a variety of activities and interactions with other UUs and the community. Our youth are actively engaged in the planning of our programs and activities. The overall emphasis is on individual growth, building relationships within the UU community and contributing to make the world a better place.

COMING OF AGE

Coming of Age is a special program that marks the transition from childhood to older adolescence. It is especially for 8th-10th graders, but older high school students are welcome. The program in 2024-25 will be full of exploration, adventures, and discoveries. Young people will get to know themselves better and gain greater self-confidence. They will connect with peers and adult mentors through activities and adventures. At the end of the program, the congregation and families will celebrate their transition from childhood to older adolescence.
